On our travels we meet lots of Caravan Club members. We are delighted to have received this wonderful review in the June issue of Caravan Club Magazine which is a great read and mailed out to 380,000 households.
The overriding feeling I had while reading this was one of jealousy. Writer Brigid Benson and photographer Craig Easton have visited some of the most captivating land and seascapes in the British Isles to produce this book, and the pictures within are guaranteed to give you itchy feet. The jacket suggested Benson is inspired "by childhood holidays touring remote parts of Scotland in a jam-packed camper-van" and 52 Weekends by the Sea sits nicely with the touring lifestyle. While you may not be able to park a caravan in some of the more remote places in the book, many Club sites are well situated for visits to featured locations. The Dalchalm site in Brora, for example, would make a good base from which to take in the delights of 'Weekend 52' which centres around glorious Dornoch, Tain and the Tarbat peninsula. Full of great photography, fascinating local characters and suggestions for places to stay, eat and drink, 52 Weekends by the Sea, which includes a foreword by Rick Stein, is an excellent book - even if you just want to dream...
